POKOTABI / Naokyu
らーめん直久 青山店
Located in the basement arcade of Minami-Aoyama 1-chome, Naokyu serves everything from light Nagoya Cochin chicken broth to richer pork-back-fat bowls and vegetable-laden tonsai ramen, alongside versatile side dishes.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Situated in the underground shopping concourse directly connected to Aoyama-itchome Station, Naokyu caters to whatever style of ramen you are craving, whether that means a crystal-clear broth or something rich and hearty. The Junkei Ramen, built on a stock extracted from prized Nagoya Cochin chicken, is the shop's enduring benchmark: clear on the palate yet filled with pure poultry savor, available with either a soy sauce or salt base. When you want more weight behind each bite, the Kokuuma Ramen steps in, enriching the chicken soup base and tare seasoning with rich melted pork back fat. Offered in shoyu, shio, or miso variations, the gentle sweetness of the pork fat lends extra roundness to the bowl.
The menu expands well beyond those core recipes. The Tonsai Ramen, piled with crisp-tender boiled vegetables and sliced chashu pork, offers a satisfying option for diners hoping to fit more greens into their routine. For bolder tastes, bowls like the Seabura Niboshi Ramen balance punchy dried-sardine aromas with pork back fat, while the towering Naokyuro heaps beansprouts, garlic, and back fat together for an unabashedly hearty meal.
A well-chosen selection of side dishes rounds out the spread. Plump pan-fried gyoza with chewy skins and refreshing shiso-scented dumplings can be ordered from just 3 pieces, while fragrant fried rice comes in mini portions to match your appetite. Draft beer, bottled beer, and highballs are on hand, making it easy to drop in after work for a drink and dumplings before finishing with noodles. To close, the house-made fluffy almond jelly provides a light, soothing sweetness.
Orders are placed via a ticket vending machine that accepts IC electronic transit cards and QR code mobile payments. With both counter seating and tables, the shop accommodates quick solo lunches as smoothly as relaxed visits with company.
